Y Paris en Tokio

En el video anterior comento que no entendí qué eran estos conmovedores monumentos que había filmado. Cuando se los enseñé a Nina Nikkhou, gestora de Fon Japón, no me supo decir qué eran. Entonces, le sugerí que le preguntara al taxista. Al principio a ella le pareció raro lo de preguntarle al taxista, pero como los taxistas son repositarios de la sabiduría popular, insistí y efectivamente el taxista sabía qué eran. Cuando me lo contó me dieron ganas de llorar. Pero me contuve.

En este video toco la pregunta de si hay que ser religioso para ser ético. La sociedad japonesa es una sociedad que mezcla o ignora las religiones pero es al mismo tiempo muy moralista y cívica.

Según Silicon Valley Insider, y no se si será verdad o no, Google luego de comprar la gran agencia de publicidad on line DoubleClick (justo anoche cené con el que dirigía Doubleclick and Japón) le está pidiendo a todos los empleados que hagan solicitudes para trabajar en su propia empresa ahora que es de Google.

Because the map of Tokyo must have been drawn by a drunk emperor thousands of years ago.

Because when people don´t understand you well…they still try to help you.

Because taxi drivers open the door for you…from their seats.

Because over here you don´t have to look like a geek to love technology.

Because Tokyo is a collection of little villages that blend into a city.

Because the best food they have, miso ramen, is food everyone can afford.

Because your bathtub is expected to overflow.

Because people care that you don´t get sick if they are.

Because the Japanese are as curious about you are you are about them.

Because when you look at Japanese photography you see the world from another angle.

Because saying no seems to be a personal failure.

Because tonight at Cafe Salvatore in Roppongi they gave us a chocolate cake after they had closed just because they saw how much we wanted it!

Nunca crucé la calle con tanta otra gente en mi vida.

Hoy fuí a un restaurante en Shibuya, Tokio y al mirar a mi alrededor me sorprendió que todos los otros comensales eran chicas de entre 15 y 30 años. No había ni un sólo hombre.
